The ‘Founding Father’ Alex Cooper has spoken and boy, does she have something to say.

TW: Mentions of Sexual Harassment. All statements and claims are just allegations as of June 11th.

Alex Cooper, host of the infamous podcast Call Her Daddy, premiered her two-part documentary series on Monday, June 9th, at the Tribeca Film Festival. Cooper, known for her sex and relationship advice as well as her many interviews with celebrities, shows her audience a new side of herself in this raw, behind-the-scenes-style documentary. We watch as the cameras follow her in her quest of producing her very first tour, the 2025 Unwell Tour. Among the chaos, we’re taken on a journey of how this came to be possible and how Alex Cooper came to be one of the biggest names known worldwide. As Alex would say, join us Daddy Gang as we unpack Call Her Alex and discuss why this documentary is important for women everywhere.

For the past 7 years, the world has been blessed with the weekly podcast episodes of none other than Call Her Daddy. Call Her Daddy is a podcast made by women for women all about dating and sex in the modern day as well as interviews with celebrities sprinkled in throughout the episodes. The host of this esteemed podcast is our lovely, blonde ‘Founding Father,’ Alex Cooper. Alex does an amazing job at making these episodes with celebrities feel like a late-night gossip sesh with the besties at a sleepover. She easily builds rapport with them and before long, both Alex and the guest are laughing together, almost interviewing each other while we listen in.

Alex Cooper has amassed around 5 million weekly listeners and she is nowhere near slowing down. In an interview with Forbes, Alex states,“I don't care if people consider me a journalist or a podcaster, or just a girl that talks online every week.I have millions of people each week listening to me, and genuinely being affected by what comes out of my mouth.” She recently began her own media agency, Unwell, in the hopes of introducing younger creators to a larger audience.

Life wasn’t always the kindest to her though. Alex’s openness with dissecting taboo topics is something she has long been comfortable with. It wasn’t until her voice was taken from her, that she decided it was time she took back her own power and broadcast it to the world. Little did she realize just how much the world needed her.

In her two-part docuseries, Alex discusses the difficulties she experienced throughout school in her younger years. She delves into some of the bullying she experienced early in episode 1, saying, “Growing up, I never had a problem making friends with girls….But I was so scared of boys because of the way they would treat me.” Alex then elaborates on how these comments made her feel less than. She reflects on how she always wished to join in with her friends at sleepovers, messaging boys at their school but feeling left out. “I had a lot of comments like, ‘you look like a skeleton’...always making comments about my body and my hair.” She goes on to say she hated herself.

Throughout her entire childhood, two things remained persistent. Her love of filming everything and soccer. Alex Cooper was a god when it came to playing soccer in highschool, so it came as little surprise when she got a full-ride scholarship to Boston University, joining the nation’s 14th best women’s soccer league. She quickly made friends with many on her team and almost just as quickly seemed to grab the attention of another- her coach.

Coach Nancy Feldmen, who coached at Boston University from 1995 to 2022, retired from her position in 2022, but before then, coached Alex her freshmen, sophomore, and junior years of college. Alex says how excited she was to join the team and start her life over in Boston. It became quickly apparent however that she was receiving special attention from her coach.

At first thinking this was based on her soccer skills, she brushed it off. Her and her teammates began noticing during their game reviews the coach would make odd remarks about Alex’s body, asking the team to look at her legs and how she looked in her uniform, only playing clips of her on the screen. This quickly amped up to private one on one meetings where the coach would threaten to withhold Alex from games if she refused to discuss her sex life details. In her junior year, the coach kicked Alex’s best friend off the team for seemingly no reason. Later, she would allegedly tell Alex that she would room with whoever she -as the coach- decided she would be able to room with. Reaching a breaking point, Alex decided to tell her parents and reach out to the University on the matter.

The Cooper family did not go to the University empty handed. Alex’s mother had written down everything Alex had told her over the previous 3 years regarding the situation. When confronted with the allegation though, the University allegedly was uninterested in much of a discussion much rather seeing any evidence. According to Alex and her family, they simply asked ‘what do you want?’ Frustrated, the Cooper family left with the coach keeping her job and Alex heading into her senior year no longer an athlete. In a recent podcast update, Alex informed her fans that she had recently found out this abuse of power had continued into 2025 on many other female players. In finding this out, she said she felt the need to come forward and remain silent no longer.

This documentary is not merely just about Alex’s healing journey from the bullying she endured in her childhood and the sexual harassment she faced in her college years, it’s about what came from those unfortunate situations. Alex has grown a multimillion dollar business since the beginning of Call Her Daddy, inspiring women worldwide to be their true, authentic selves. In recent years, she has moved from being sex heavy in her content, to more mental health focused and the shift has helped shape a generation of women coming up in the world. With Alex sharing her story, even those who only know of her can respect the strength and power Alex Cooper carries with her everyday.

In finishing this documentary, a well of emotions can be felt seeing the impact Call Her Daddy has had on so many fans. Alex Cooper is genuinely a huge inspiration for many and as she continues to grow, she remains the same self proclaimed, ‘Founding Father’ she has always been. As of June 11th, Boston University has not released any statements regarding Nancy Feldmen. Call Her Alex is now streaming on Hulu.
