Things just got a whole lot sweeter- Her clothes are off, and she's coming over to your place *wink*

Sabrina Carpenter's Short N' Sweet tour may be one of the best events to happen in our lifetime, period. Honestly, we could end the article there. The songs are great, the show put on for the audience is great, Sabrina Carpenter is great, but all of these things combined would be nothing... if it weren't for the outfits that have graced those stages.
Who knew that three simple outfits would be all it took to alter the style brain chemistry of millions around the world and kickstart trends that even Pinterest couldn't have predicted? We've got corsets and baby dolls, we have cat suits, we have hologram two-pieces, and now, with the ironically named Short N' Sweet tour getting more dates added, the dream team -Sabrina and her stylist- have decided to scrap everything and start anew. So, let's walk you through the different looks we've gone through during this groundbreaking tour, see how we ended up here, and where we're heading style-wise with the Espresso singer's upcoming album, Man's Best Friend.
Act I: Getting ready for the party
Act I of the singer-songwriter's show begins with Sabrina emerging from a bathtub, covering herself with a towel. When she "realizes" she has nothing to wear, the audience gets a sneak peek of what's underneath the fluffy fabric. Miss Ma'am opens up her towel, revealing all of the sparkle that was locked inside.
"Omg I have nothing to wear" bodysuit
All of the looks for Act I are styled by custom Victoria's Secret. Sabrina wears a sparkly bodysuit, unique for each show, with matching garters and character shoes. The shoes adorned by the singer keep the focus completely on the star of the show- the corseted bodysuit. This opening has become one of the most anticipated moments of the concert, with many people attempting to guess what color bodysuit she'll be showing up in next.

Sabrina explained in an interview with Vogue that the inspiration for these looks combined Bridget Bardot, the sleepover scene in Grease, Bye Bye Birdie, and Playboy: After Dark. She wanted the "living room scene" to feel like you were with the girls, getting ready for a night out.
Act II: cocktail hour

For Act II: the cocktail hour, Sabrina saunters down the grand staircase in a lacey catsuit with a feather draped across her chest. The feather snaps off the bodysuit, revealing two looks in one. Just like the corseted bodysuits, the feather is unique to each show, with the color alternating depending on what city they're performing in. Unlike the corseted bodysuits, this catsuit is built for movement. While she struggles to move around too much from the structured fit, the lacey catsuit allows Sabrina to handle the bulk of the dancing in the show during this Act. This is when we see high kicks, more involved dance movements, and some floor action. The way Sabrina describes this act is like pregaming- being a little tipsy, but not too crazy.
The looks for this Act are completely custom by Patou, and we see the character shoes make a familiar return from Act I. Sabrina says the inspiration behind the slinky fit for Act II was completely Marilyn Monroe in No Business Like Show Business, and Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. She wanted a very classic, minimal, sleek look that would wow her audience members in the front of the crowd, just as much as the fans in the nosebleeds.

Act III: Party time, babes!

Act III is when we get down and dirty. The fake sunset projected on the large screen behind the performers has set, and we've finally made it to the party! We see another two looks during this Act in another iconic moment by Sabrina and her performers. This infamous moment occurs during a skit when a random audience member appears to make the singer so flustered, her long skirt falls off, revealing a matching miniskirt underneath.
It's giving Hologram realness...
During her interview with Vogue, Sabrina lets viewers in on how they decided to incorporate the funny moment into the show. She explains that although the fabric looks flowy and light, it's an incredibly heavy material that makes moving around nearly impossible. She said that she couldn't be in the dense material for more than one song. Her team decided the best way to combat this issue would be to add a clip to the back of the maxi skirt, allowing it to pool at her feet on the floor in a funny moment with fans, helping her to move around in a more freeing miniskirt to finish the concert off.
Act III's outfits are all made by Ludovic de Saint-Sernin. Regarding the inspiration that struck her for these looks, Sabrina explains to Vogue that she and her team came up with the idea after attending the ABBA Voyage show in London. "We went to the ABBA show... There was this one fabric that one of the girls was wearing. It was so gorgeous, and it was like liquidy." From that point on, she knew she needed this material to be incorporated into a look for the show.
Add a little bit of...spice

Did you think the outfit colors were the only details the Carpenter team thought of? Think again. Each show features different tights for the singer to wear, each with their own 'tattooed' lyric from different songs off her album. This is yet another easter egg that has fans in a frenzy, with many scouring the internet for dupes or making their own.
A babydoll coverup is brought out during Act I- again, unique to each show, and always matching her bodysuit. Sabrina has said she feels the most confident in a babydoll, not worrying about how she looks or what angles she may be viewed from. The babydoll motif was introduced back when Sabrina performed on SNL in 2024 and has stayed with us ever since.
"What can we do for the girls, and then comes 'how can we round this out and make this feel so unique?'"

Another unique easter egg for each show involves the mugs the singer/songwriter brings out. Custom-made, these mugs wear a kiss from the singer next to the name of the city she's performing in, making the show feel a little more personal to concert-goers.
And last but absolutely not least, we have Miss Sabrina's iconic shoes. I mean, look at them. First, gorgeous. Second, iconic. The character shoes worn in Act I and II have been known to alternate phrases on the bottoms, but are most prominently known for having "Mother F****er" displayed for the world to see. It's a nod to her hit song, "Please, Please, Please." As iconic as that whole moment is, Act III is when we see classic Brina with her signature boots. Embellished with her trademark heart, the colored outline for the symbol gets switched out each show and alternates between the middle being filled in or left open. These are just the little details that help make the Short N' Sweet shows massive hits, making fans come back for more each time.
Act I gets an update

As we enter Sabrina's Man's Best Friend era, we're starting to see a shift in the tour outfits. On June 8th, she debuted a completely new wardrobe for Acts I, II, and III.
I see someone is a fan of F1.
In Act I, Sabrina wears a long-sleeve, zip-up bodysuit that is absolutely full of sparkle and introduces her name across her chest, just in case anyone forgot it mid-show. Instead of her usual bombshell curls, we see her with a more kinky style of curls that give the illusion of a perm. The shoes have also made a switch-up amid the chaos. Instead of Act I and II having character shoes, Sabrina now wears her boots during Act I (and they aren't platforms! That's wild!).
The Catsuit Upgrade

The sexy, longed-for catsuit from Act II has gotten an upgrade as well! No longer a sweetheart neckline, this halter catsuit underwent a minimal change that has had a major impact on its image. It's a stunning piece!
Along with the change to the neckline, Sabrina's team had to figure out a way to reincorporate a unique, 'changes each show' element to the design. That's where the fluffy sash comes in. With no more feather boas to lean on, the singer now comes out with a fur sash draped around her upper body, the ribbon of the sash being the detail that changes colors each show.
She's coming for your gig, Abba

Adore Delano once bravely stood up and said, "Party." This is exactly how Act III's outfit upgrade should be described. No longer looking like any ol' hologram, but as if she walked out of a computer itself and then into a pool of water, Miss Carpenter has yet again proven why she should be in control of fashion's latest trends (she already... kind've... is).
The liquidy material got renewed for a 2nd season.
The shimmering cowl neck dress has a matching bra and shoes that change colors each night. It's a good representation of us moving on from the 60's sleepover scenes, to matching Manchild's vibes of the 1970's and disco parties.
In an Instagram live the singer had done, she teased the inspiration behind Man's Best Friend, saying they took inspirations from Donna Summer, Dolly Parton, and ABBA. Discussing the progression of her shows and outfits, Sabrina stated, "I could have stretched out Short N' Sweet much, much longer, but I'm at the point in my life where I'm like, 'wait a second,...there's no rules.'"
Sabrina's Short N' Sweet tour may not be over, with dates for the Short N' Sweet: It's Even Sweeter! tour running through November 23rd, but the era of Short N' Sweet's 60s vibes seem to be transitioning into something new, something disco, something.....party. In an interview with Vogue last year, Sabrina's stylist, Jared Ellner describes the singer by saying, "She has such a good idea of like, who she is- in the best way, in an amazing way."
